Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine is an important medicine which is used to treat certain types of mental or emotional conditions. Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine is also used in the treatment of anxiety and depression. This medicine is used to control hiccups, reduce anxiety and treat nausea as well as vomiting.

Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine is generally taken with food or milk in case of a stomach upset. If the doctor advises any other method, then the patient should follow that technique. He should carefully dilute the medicine with 2 ounces (60ml) or more of water, milk, juice, coffee, tea or any other carbonated beverage. This medicine can also be mixed with applesauce or pudding. This medicine should be taken immediately after it has been diluted.

If a person has been taking Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine for a long time, he should not suddenly stop taking it. The doctor should always be consulted before the medicine is stopped. In certain cases, the medicine may take around two weeks to show its reactions.

He may experience trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating and skin rash/discoloration. Some people also develop a sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine or hot dry skin. A patient may experience severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged or painful erection when he takes Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine. Some allergic reactions like rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness and troubled breathing may also be caused due to this medicine.

Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine should be avoided by patients who are are pregnant or breast feeding mothers. The medicine may affect the fetus or harm the nursed infant. A patient should also inform the doctor about his medical history which may include very high or very low blood pressure, liver or heart disease, Reye's syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders or allergies (especially drug allergies).

A patient should also be cautious while driving. He should avoid drinking alcohol and prolonged sun exposure, while taking Chlorpromazine Concentrate-Oral, Thorazine. This medication may also make him susceptible to heat stroke. A patient should try avoiding strenuous work or exercise while taking this medicine.
